This week I humbly bring you the wonderful and inspiring Wildlife Works. I originally started corresponding with Wildlife Works and was sent this amazing shirt more than a few months ago but have been so busy with moving to a new house and organizing that it took me awhile to get these photos up. I decided to pair this outfit with some beautiful handmade and eco-friendly jewelry from the lovely The Hemp Butterfly who I recently mentioned on my blog. The weather is finally starting to get warmer and it was so beautiful out today.

I love to be able to feature unique, beautiful and creative things and it’s an added bonus and honor when the brand and product I am featuring is going to a wonderful cause.

I am humbled to model a shirt that is not only one of the most comfortable and cutest shirts I own but that is also helping the wildlife. I want to spread the word about how important it is to get involved with companies who genuinely care about what they are doing and who have a passion for something that goes much deeper than just creating clothes for style purposes.

They have so many amazing selections from t-shirts to sweaters. I plan to purchase this shirt next! You can wear Wildlife Works clothes proudly, knowing that any amount of money you spent on the clothes are going to help the wildlife! It’s a great way to do good while also wanting to look fashionable :)

I wanted to show that you can wear this shirt multiple ways. I like to tuck it into high-waisted skirts or leave it out – it really depends on what look you are going for. I also like to wear this shirt with black leggings or skinny jeans!

About:

Wildlife Works first project was their wildlife reserve in Kenya, the 80,000-acre Rukinga Wildlife sanctuary, which is now the heart of their 500,000 acre Kasigau Corridor REDD project that protects an entire wildlife corridor between Tsayo East and West National Parks. This flagship wilderness projects now employs over 300 employees that includes rangers, land managers, seamstresses and greenhouse workers, all hired locally.

Wildlife Works’ EcoFactory (carbon neutral, of course) itself now employs over 50 local women and 5 local men who make their organic cotton fashion collection and other sustainable private label lines. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, they are also building schools, funding scholarships, improving agricultural practices, providing health care and adding to the betterment of the community as a whole. These jobs have radically changed the way the local community views wildlife. Before Wildlife Works, they saw wildlife as either bush meat or money. They were poaching, clear-cutting and rapidly destroying their natural environment. With Wildlife Works, they can earn enough to feed their families and send their children to school without killing wildlife or destroying their environment. The wildlife has become an asset to them worth much more alive than dead. The poaching has stopped and the animals are returning.

Mission:

Wildlife Works’ mission is to harness the power of the global consumer to create innovative and sustainable solutions for wildlife conservation.

How You Can Help:

When you buy a Wildlife Works product, you become an agent for conservation. You’re wearing the brand that says you won’t sit quietly by while the last wild things in the last wild places disappear forever. We invite you to explore our world where wildlife thrives when you buy. Whether you buy Eco-friendly fashion or carbon credits, Wildlife Works turns all of your dollars into programs for saving endangered and threatened wildlife and preserving forests around the glove.
